Beloved worldwide, Chloe Chua returns to PENTATONE with Mozart’s complete violin concertos – a project that began when she was just 15 years old.
Besides the five Violin Concertos, the album also features Mozart’s Rondos, K. 269 and K. 373 as well as the Sinfonia Concertante, K. 364. In the latter, Chloe is partnered with the outstanding young Chinese violist Ziyu He, a fellow alumnus of the Yehudi Menuhin Competition. The soloists are accompanied by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Hans Graf, for whom the relationship with the violin star is particularly special.
For Chloe, Mozart’s music holds a special place in her heart, and she has embraced the challenge of following in the footsteps of so many legendary violinists. In these refined and fresh interpretations, her deep connection to the music – written by Mozart when he was around her age – is unmistakable. Even without a trained ear, one can appreciate her extraordinary technique, elegance, and effort to capture the vitality of these beloved works.
In a message in the album, Chloe points out that many other recordings and interpretations of these works already exist, and she wondered what more could she say about them. In the end, putting it simply, "I decided to just follow my heart as a teenager like [Mozart] and find my own interpretations as one."
The album in a 3-CD and 4-LP vinyl set will be released internationally on 18 July 2025. The album is also available on all major streaming platforms. Visit https://lnk.to/MozartViolinConcertoChua for more information and preorders.
