Chloe Chua (b. 2007) shot to international stardom after winning the joint 1st Prize at the 2018 Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists. The young Singaporean star has also won top accolades at the Andrea Postacchini, Zhuhai International Mozart, Thailand International Strings and the Singapore National Piano & Violin Competitions.
Her stunning musicality despite her young age has captured the hearts of audiences around the world, and her performances have taken her to concert halls and orchestras across the U.S.A., U.K., Italy, Germany, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. In the 2024/25 season, Chloe performed with the orchestras of the Guangzhou Symphony, Malaysian Philharmonic, Konzerthausorchester Berlin and made her Australian debut in a 3-city tour with the Singapore Symphony.
Called “one of the most promising young musicians in the world” by PBS’s Great Performances, America’s preeminent mul5 award-winning performing arts television series, Chloe starred in its season 51 episode Now Hear This – Rising Stars, broadcast in April 2024.
Chloe was Artist-In-Residence of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) during their 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons – the youngest ever to be appointed to this role. After garnering 1.6 million Spotify streams in the first year of her debut album of Vivaldi's Four Seasons and Locatelli’s Harmonic Labyrinth on the Pentatone label, Chloe’s sophomore release of the Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto and Paganini No. 1 debuted at No. 4 on the UK Official Classical chart, No. 6 on Billboard Classical and reached No. 1 spot on Apple Music’s Classical Top 100. 2025 sees the release of her highly anticipated all-Mozart album, the culmination of a heartwarming two-year collaboration with the SSO and Hans Graf.
At age 4, Chloe began her violin studies at Singapore’s Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) School of Young Talents, honing her skills under the tutelage of Yin Ke. She is currently a student at Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, studying under Kolja Blacher.
Chloe is a Larsen Strings Artist, and plays on Larsen Il Cannone Gold strings. She performs on a violin by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini, Milan, 1753, on generous loan from the Rin Collection.
