2026 Hanna Chang's Daejeon Grand Festival JOY OF MUSIC: Joy of Collaboration Opening Concert

The third act of 'Hanna Chang’s Daejeon Grand Festival,' a celebration of young musicians possessing outstanding talent and burning passion, is about to begin. Artistic Director Hanna Chang, who has led the festival for the past three years, presents a program that encapsulates the artistic achievements and musical philosophy she has accumulated over the years, marking the end of this season.

At the opening concert, the first stage, a feast of concertos unfolds. The performance draws even more attention as the passionate sound of the National Symphony Concert Orchestra is added to the lineup of the most trendy performers of our time: cellist Zlatomir Fung, the youngest winner in the history of the 2019 Tchaikovsky International Competition, whose strengths lie in his flawless technique and intellectual interpretation; pianist Julius Assal, a rising star from Germany chosen by Deutsche Gramophon who receives critical acclaim for his dreamy tone; and Chloe Chua, a teenage genius violinist who is attracting attention from Asia and beyond.
